The LOCK/UNLOCK command enables a user to lock or unlock a drive, enabling/disabling direct disk access for an application.

At the command prompt, type the following:

LOCK [drive:] the drive specifies the drive to be locked

UNLOCK [drive:] the drive specifies the drive to be unlocked

Example:

LOCK C: this will lock the C: drive
