Why do I keep getting bumped off the internet?

My friend has the pc, when we are chatting instant message. It keeps redialing her in, she is allready on but it seems like she is not on and redails her, she says it gets worse the longer she is on, her searver is GCI and is of no help. thank you

Thank you for your question You should have your friend e-mail us the question so we can see what type of system they have Based on the information you have given us though try checking in the control panel The way to do this is click "Start" on the taskbar Then click "Settings" Click "Control Panel" from there choose "System" then click the tab "Device Manager" make sure there is no exclamation point next to modem, if there is have your friend resubmit the question with as much information as possible including which Instant Messaging program they have

I'm going to assume GCI is your friends ISP If they are unwilling to help maybe your friend should consider changing to a different ISP as it could be a problem with them Thanks
