Why does my computer shut down when I plug in my USB drive?

When I plug in my USB cord for my digital camera, it shuts off my computer instantly. Do you have any ideas what could be causing the problem.

You might want to try and update to "Sp2" Go to "http://www.usbman.com/" and update your usb drivers

On the web site, where it says Operating System on the lower left column click on WinXP There should be the updates.
